In this trailer for Les Miserables, we get taken behind the scenes to see how they have re-invented the musical. It’s an ambitious production, in which the singing was done right there on the set instead of in a sound studio.
The result is to make you of the music. To make the acting and the music match in a way rarely seen. The gritty version of the harsh reality and truth of the time, makes for a marvelous performance that will give you goose bumps every time you hear the haunting songs that make up Les Miserables.
Tom Hooper is bringing the awesome musical “Les Misérables” to the large cinema screen. The take on the movie is different than many stage productions brought to the screen and seems much grittier as a result. The actors end up looking much more drawn, tired, worn down and basically as dirty as you would expect from someone of the time.
This “Les Misérables” trailer starts to show what we will see come Christmas 2012. Anne Hathaway is at the center of the trailer signing a haunting version of I Dreamed a Dream. It makes you feel the sadness of her character quite starkly. It’s easy to see how this will have Oscar nomination written all over it.
The trailer takes us from Hathaway through the other stars in the movie including Hugh Jackman and Russell Crowe. And we also see Amanda Seyfried, Eddie Redmayne and Samantha Barks along the way.
But the star of this Les Miserables Trailer is Hathaway with her downtrodden look and haunting song.
